Lawn Tennis Association Competition 2023

The annual Lawn Tennis Association Competition 2023 has taken place and well done Anita, Olivia, Erin, Lucy and Willow on their fantastic tennis. The team won 5-1 against High School of Glasgow, lost 4-3 to MES (match tie break decider!) and lost 5-1 to a strong St Leonard’s team.

The Kilgraston team showed amazing fighting spirit. Olivia had a fantastic win against the MES number 1 player, winning 7-6. Amazing effort girls, super proud of you.

Scottish Prep Schools Ski Championships 2023

Our Junior ski team travelled to Glenshee for the Scottish Prep Schools Ski Championships 2023 – although on arrival you would be forgiven for thinking we had been transported to the Alps – blue skies, cold snow and not a breath of wind, definitely not typical Scottish conditions!

After an inspection of the perfectly prepared 24-gate course, our teams gathered excitedly at the start, to wait for their first runs. All our racers put down clean runs first time, which built lots of confidence to really attack the course for their second runs – with some noticeably faster and more aggressive skiing, which definitely paid off.

The Kilgraston team finished fifth place overall with silver medals for Darcy, Minnie and Jessica in the female team category, and individual bronze medals for Freya in both the U11 and overall female event. Fantastic skiing from all our racers, and a day we won’t forget for a long time.

Kilgraston Hockey Invitational 2022

It was a beautiful sunny day as the 13 teams from around Scotland took to the hockey pitches for the Under 13 and Under 11 Kilgraston Hockey Invitational.

We welcomed around 170 girls from eight different Scottish Prep schools, the first time we have been able to host this event since the pandemic in 2019 and the teams’ enthusiasm showed.

The excitement was palpable during the semi-finals and finals, particularly when the teams had to go to sudden death penalty shoot-out.

Well done to St Mary’s for their first place in the Under 11 category and to Edinburgh Academy for their first place in the Under 13 category and thank you to all the teams, staff and parents who took part and came to watch. We look forward to next year. Read more about sport at Kilgraston including our Hockey Academy.
