Equestrian Assistant Manager

Kilgraston School’s Equestrian Centre is looking for an Assistant Manager to join the team. Kilgraston is the only school in Scotland with equestrian facilities onsite, housing up to 25 horses between the riding school and livery yard and are hoping to become BHS approved in 2021.

This is an exciting role for an experienced and qualified coach, who has experience of working with young people and enjoys a varied working day. The successful applicant will ideally be a BHS Level 3 coach (or equivalent) and be a responsible individual who can supervise a small team in the manager’s absence whilst delivering excellent customer service and the best care to our team of riding school horses and liveries.

Equestrian Assistant Manager Role Profile:

  • Tuition in all aspects of riding and stable management
  • Implementation of yard routine and regular ‘hands-on’ yard duties including mucking out, clipping, feeding etc.
  • Assisting in management of equestrian staff and volunteers, including delivery of BHS Stage 1 + 2 course work and assessment preparation
  • Grassland management and maintenance.
  • Organisation of vets, farriers and feed deliveries.

An attractive package, including use of school facilities, regular CPD training and the possibility of both onsite accommodation and livery for own horse is available. The successful applicant will on occasion be the senior staff member overseeing the Centre and the role will include some evening and weekend shifts.

Scottish Swimmers Learn to Swim Programme Swimming Teacher (part-time)

Kilgraston School is looking for enthusiastic and motivated swimming teachers to deliver our Learn to Swim Programme in conjunction with the Scottish Swimming National Framework.

Your main duties will include the preparation and delivery of swimming lessons to all ages and abilities, including Kilgraston school pupils and members of the local community. Teachers should use their own initiative in delivery but will be supported by a Swimming Pool Manager. Teachers should also be committed to working hours that are agreed and have good time management.

We are looking for:

  • Level 1 ASA / UKCC qualified swimming instructors (Level 2 qualification is desirable).
  • Appropriate Lifesaving Qualification (NPLQ is desirable).
  • Teachers with experience of teaching young people/specific target groups and preparing lesson plans.
  • Teachers who are passionate about swimming, who are keen to learn and develop.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to respond appropriately and professionally.
  • Team Players.
  • Teachers who are motivated to make a difference in swimming.

Lifeguard  (Part-time – Evenings & Weekends)

We are currently looking for a confident, highly motivated person to be a pool lifeguard at Kilgraston School.

Your main duties will be the supervision of all areas of the pool and changing areas and ensure service to users, equipment provision, facility cleanliness and customer care are delivered to a high standard.

You will report to the Swimming Pool Manager and be expected to employ a high degree of initiative and enthusiasm at all times.

The successful candidate should possess RLSS or STA Pool Lifeguard Qualification. Previous experience of work within the leisure industry would be an advantage.

FACILITIES SUPPORT TEAM

Kilgraston School seeks to appoint into our Facilities Team to support the operational needs and day to day running of the School.

Housekeeping Assistant

Housekeeping Assistants cover all areas of the School. The successful candidate will work as part of our Housekeeping Team and duties will include general cleaning and laundry. This will initially be on a part-time basis, hours and days to be mutually agreed.
