Assistant Residential Mistress for August 2018

 

Due to expansion in boarding provision, Kilgraston School invites applications for an Assistant Residential Mistress. The successful candidate will assist with the daily care of the girls in the boarding area alongside the Residential Mistress. This position is residential and the successful candidate will be expected to play a full and active role in Senior School boarding.  This will include morning and evening duties five days per week. In addition to the above it would be preferential for the successful candidate to also have qualifications in health care and/ or experience of working in an area of education.

 

The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain positive professional working relationships with all colleagues, both teaching and non-teaching, within and beyond the school with the aim of maintaining a positive and caring education ethos.

Groom/Working Pupil (Full Time)

 

Kilgraston School’s Equestrian Centre is looking for a groom/working pupil.  We are a riding school and livery yard with up to 22 horses and ponies set in 54 acres of school grounds just south of Perth.  The successful candidate must use their initiative, be hard-working, reliable and work well within a team. Some experience is desirable but a willingness to learn is more important. We are able to offer training towards BHS exams, regular lessons and there may be opportunities to compete. An interest in teaching/coaching would be beneficial.

The role will include –

  • General yard duties
  • Assisting with lessons
  • Exercising horses and ponies, both ridden and lunging
  • Driving the quad, harrowing arena and using the dung sweeper

Some evening and weekend work will be required. Experience of working with children is desirable but not essential.

The ideal candidate with have a professional outlook, good people skills and have a genuine interest in the well-being of our horses. Sole charge on the yard will be required once fully trained.

A competitive salary along with accommodation and meals during term time is included in the package.
