Senior School

Realising potential, achieving excellence.

The educational aim of our Senior School is clear; each girl must understand and be empowered to develop her own distinctive personal strengths and abilities and, in so doing, realise her full intellectual potential.

The learning structure is built on the sure foundation provided by our excellent and experienced staff and has around it a genuinely super structure of personal and moral support provided by the School community as a whole.

Our Senior School is for girls aged between 13 and 16 years. It is the stepping stone for moving on to our Sixth Form.

The School Day

Registration is at 8.45am and is followed by an inter-denominational assembly in the School Chapel at 8.55am.

Teaching starts at 9.05am with six periods running through to 4.10pm. There is a break mid-morning and a 50 minute lunch break which starts at 1.05pm.

Between 4.30pm and 5.30pm and again between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, there are clubs and activities. Participating in these wide-ranging activities is optional for Day Pupils and compulsory for Boarders. Clubs and activities are an integral part of the life of the School and play a key role in the personal development of each Kilgraston pupil. As a result, everyone is encouraged to take part in at least one activity every week. The pupils have access to over 70 clubs and activities. To view the brochure please click here.
