It is an important, popular and rewarding part of school life. Our new Theatre provides the stage to show off hard work to appreciative audiences.
Drama offers an enormous amount of fun for the pupils of all ages involved both onstage and back stage. Equally important, however, is the way it allows communication skills to be developed and teamwork to grow.
The Junior Years present a major musical production each Summer term, performing in front of an audience of friends, family, the school and members of the public. Every Junior pupil takes part in the performance, it develops their confidence as well as providing great enjoyment before, during and after the show.
Older pupils pull out all the stops for the Senior School’s stunning drama and musical productions held biennially alongside the annual Junior Year production.
Entry forms for LAMDA lessons beginning in September term are now being accepted.
LAMDA stands for London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art.
The course available are:

• Reading for Performance*
* particularly suitable for pupils whose English is a second language
LAMDA is taught by Mrs Roberts, a qualified, experienced Performance & Communication LAMDA teacher. She also has experience as a Worldwide Examiner for LAMDA.
Courses usually begin in September and finish before or just after the Spring term: when certificate examinations take place. It is possible for some pupils to begin courses at other times of the year.
Courses are open to everyone at any stage in their school life. Pupils benefit from beginning as early as possible when they join the school. They are also helpful to overseas pupils who may come for a limited period. However, older pupils that are new to some of the LAMDA subjects find them useful in gaining valuable UCAS points.
There are no entry requirements.
