SUMMER MINI-CAMPS 2021

Kilgraston School Camps are delighted to welcome children back this summer with a variety of camp options.  Our old-favourites, Multi-Sports and Equestrian will continue to run in summer 2021, with the addition of Multi-Arts and Dance.

 

MULTI-SPORTS

FOR GIRLS AND BOYS AGED 5 – 17 OF ALL ABILITIES

Monday 28th June – Friday 6th August 2021 (10:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday)

Our Multi-Sports camps contain a combination of sports and sports-based games.  The sports we have on offer include: athletics, touch rugby, rounders, lacrosse, badminton, basketball, netball, gymnastics, swimming and volleyball*.  We’ll balance these with a range of games, such as capture the flag, chaos tag, sharks and fishes, and much more.

This programme is flexible and is run by our qualified and experienced coaches who will try to accommodate participants’ favourite sports, even if they aren’t on our list.

We make the full use of our outdoor sports facilities for our camps, including the tennis courts, hockey pitch, football fields, school lawn and woodland areas.

Students must bring their own packed lunch and bottled water.

Students should wear weather-appropriate clothing, bringing waterproofs and suncream as necessary.

*Sports available will vary each week, and can be dependent on coach availability and coronavirus restrictions

MULTI-ARTS

FOR ALL CHILDREN AGED 5 – 17

Monday 28th June – Friday 6th August 2021 (10:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday)

Our Multi-Arts camps are a perfect choice for creative students, and includes a variety of visual and performance arts, such as drawing, painting, crafting, music, drama, cooking, creative writing, jewellery making, and much more*.

Our sessions make use of various spaces in the Kilgraston School building, including the stunning art department, our theatre and drama studio, and even the lawn and woodland areas for outdoor sessions in the sunshine.

Students must bring their own packed lunch and bottled water.

*Arts available will vary each week, and can be dependent on coach availability and coronavirus restrictions

EQUESTRIAN (CAMPS & OWN A PONY DAYS)

FOR RIDERS AGED 17 & UNDER

Please note that due to current restrictions, we are not taking beginner riders at present, although we will keep expressions of interest from beginner riders on a waiting list in the event that the official guidance changes.

Equestrian Camps (4 mornings per week)

Monday 5th July – Thursday 29th July (9:30 – 12:30, Monday to Thursday)

Equestrian camp sessions are designed to consider the ability of each rider, and will include dressage, show-jumping, hacking and games.  The focus is on progress, variety and fun, and each session will combine riding with stable management. 

We have limited spaces available and due to COVID-19 restrictions, all children taking part must have ridden with us before, and be capable of mounting independently and doing their own stirrups and girth, and riding without a leader.

This camp should be booked weekly rather than daily.  Students participating may also sign up for our Multi-Sports or Multi-Arts activities in the afternoon. 

Own a Pony Days

Tuesday 29th June, Wednesday 30th June, Thursday 1st July

Tuesday 3rd August, Wednesday 4th August, Thursday 5th August (10:00 – 15:00 daily)

Own a Pony days include 2 x ridden sessions (flatwork, jumping, hacking, games, etc.) as well as learning to care for the horses and ponies.

We have limited spaces available and due to COVID-19 restrictions, all children taking part must have ridden with us before, and be capable of mounting independently and doing their own stirrups and girth, and riding without a leader.

Students must bring their own packed lunch and bottled water.

DANCE

FOR ALL CHILDREN AGED 5 – 17

Monday 5th July – Friday 9th July (10:00 – 16:00)

Monday 19th July – Friday 23rd July (10:00 – 16:00)

Monday 26th July – Friday 30th July  (10:00 – 16:00)

New for Summer 2021

Our Dance Academy is run by a qualified dance instructor with years of experience dancing in shows and productions both in the UK and overseas.

Dance sessions will cover ballet, jazz, contemporary and hip-hop styles, and will be adapted to the level and experience of each student participating.  Complete beginners are more than welcome to attend!

Each session will focus on the skills and techniques for the different styles of dance, as well as choreography.  Students will learn how to create their own work, and the week will culminate with a performance for parents (in person, restrictions permitting – otherwise a filmed performance that will be sent to parents).

Students must bring their own packed lunch and bottled water.

Coronavirus Information

Please note that in light of the current pandemic, our camps will be running subject to guidance from the Scottish Government and various sporting and other associations, which we continue to review.  This means that our operational procedures, spaces used, as well as the sports that we have on offer are subject to change.  Any significant changes made will be communicated to parents by email with as much notice as possible.

As always, our foremost priority continues to be the safety and wellbeing of families, staff and our wider community. We will continue to communicate with families, but please get in touch if you have any questions on this matter.​
