Inter-house Chess
Today’s match in the inter-house chess tournament was an absolute epic, in which Belana Negri claimed a first win for Inchcolm, beating Anna Gilmore Heezen (Arran) in the process. After taking an early advantage, Belana was unable to force checkmate; and Anna, despite her king being left isolated from move 60, managed to hold on for a further 50 moves before finally being trapped by Belana’s queen, rook and bishops.
