Future’s Cup
In August, two of our girls competed at the Future’s Cup event for hockey in St Albans, England.
Emily Dark was captain of the team called the Caledonian Cougars and performed very well. After a 4:4 draw, 2:0 win and the final v England’s Saxon Tigers ending in a 0:0 draw the Scotland Caledonian Cougars lost 4:3 on penalties. Emily’s team won the Silver medal and Emily was jointly awarded the tournaments leading goal scorer award with 3 others. Emily also received some fantastic news last weekend, being asked to attend the Scotland Senior National Ladies team squad training. To be called to a training session at only 17 years old is a magnificent achievement. Michaela McCarthy has also been enjoying a lot of time on the pitch in England too and had some outstanding performances.
