Well done to two Lower 4 girls, Lucy MacKenzie and Rebecca Macdonald who competed in the Blues League Dual Slalom Ski Team Race, at Bellahouston.

On a stormy Friday evening, teams from a number of clubs bravely fought against the conditions and both girls gave powerful performances with exciting finishes.

Lucy MacKenzie produced two excellent runs at Sunday’s Seeded Indoor Challenge Cup at Braehead which is a national race for registered racers with 180 hopefuls competing on a fast slalom course. While not quite reaching podium place Lucy came in a creditable 8th for her age group.

Lucy and Rebecca will be competing again, in the SWIX Challenge Individual and Team event next week and we wish them luck racing there, before the SSSA team event at the end of the month.

A race with pace!

Along with 30 teams of 58 racers, Rebecca Macdonald and Lucy MacKenzie headed out to The Swix Challenge Medal Competition at Bellahouston, Glasgow. It was mainly individual timed runs, on Giant Slalom, Slalom and Slalom with a jump, which counted for their final ranking in their age. Both girls did a fabulous job with clear runs and great times. Lucy took runner-up at the podium, in fourth place for her U14 age category.

There was also a fast and fabulous inter-clubs team event to finish, where the girls pushed hard against tough competition with some worthy times. A fantastic day out was had by all.
