Kilgraston has an enviable reputation for the delicious, varied and balanced meals on offer and are proud to work in partnership with Inspire Catering, independent Scottish caterers who source 90% of their food from here in Scotland as sustainably as possible.
Catering Manager Dougie MacDonald ensures there are a wide range of choices available at all mealtimes including soup and home-made bread, main courses with healthy and vegetarian options, baked potatoes with fillings and a well-stocked salad bar. A choice of dessert or fresh fruit is always available.
The catering staff are very much a part of the Kilgraston family and consult regularly with the girls on menu choices and special events.
Inspire Catering are proud to have achieved accreditation to the Healthy Living Plus Award meaning all menus are balanced to offer 70% healthy choices. This is regularly independently audited for compliance with Award standards.
Scotch Beef Club
Inspire Catering are also the only caterer in Scotland to have gained membership of The Scottish Beef Club. Our beef is sourced mainly from the Grampian Region and the SBC membership allows us to guarantee the quality and sourcing of all beef purchased. The measures in place ensure we have a full audit trail from field to plate.
Food waste reduction
We are constantly looking to improve upon our catering services, including waste reduction. Inspire Catering and Kilgraston have recently launched a new plate waste clearing system to help reduce food waste at all mealtimes. Plate waste has already been reduced by 25% and we are now recycling approximately 90% of our food waste in an environmentally friendly way.
