Sixth Formers are accommodated in ‘Barat’ or ‘Swinton’ (part of our new Sixth Form Centre) and enjoy increased freedom and independence.

As they prepare for their Higher and Advanced Higher examinations, the girls are offered a variety of study options be it quietly in their own rooms, supported in the communal study areas or working together in small groups much as they would at university.

There is plenty of time to relax as well and Sixth Form baking nights are a particular favourite.

We offer a rich programme of extra curricular opportunities for our Sixth Form boarders, and have strong links with Edinburgh’s Merchiston Castle School for boys with whom we collaborate in trips, dinners, sport, parties and more.
