Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

Success! It has been a busy couple of months for our riders at Kilgraston. After the brilliant team accomplishments at the Kilgraston Scottish Schools Equestrian Championships, many girls have done well in individual pursuits across the country.

First of all, congratulations to Katie Robertson of U4 Kinnoull and her horse Cameron Poe. She was selected for team GB in the Children’s Cup of Nations in Belgium which, along with her team mates, she won! They had a total of 5 faults in front of Ireland who came second with 14 faults. After the event Chef d’equipe Corinne Bracken commented ‘The team were fantastic, the wonderful Belgian showground and big technical track was an experience that should stand them in good stead for their future careers’.

Could we all please congratulate Lottie Murray of L6 Kinnoull who last month qualified for the Royal International Horse Show at Hixstead in July. This is a great achievement and we wish her every success for the competition.

Emily Ryder of U5 Arran has been shortlisted for the British Pony Eventing team to compete at the European Championships in July. We all have our fingers crossed that she is selected and gets to compete for the country.

Rebecca Norval of L4 Capercaillie competed as part of the Scottish Equestrian Vaulting Team representing Great Britain at the CVI*Belgium. The team came 6th against immense competition from Germany and Switzerland. The team put in a tremendous performance and there was only 0.932 between first and sixth place.

Also, congratulations to Sophie O’Neil (U3 Osprey) and Flora Wilson (L2 Osprey) who were at the Angus Pony Club competition last weekend. The top 5 teams qualify for the Zones in July and from there they qualify for Scottish Horse of the Year Show. The top 3 also qualify for the Highland Show this year. Strathearn A team won it – the first time in 10 years!!

Well done to all the girls who have competed recently and these results really show the high quality of riding at Kilgraston.
