Sporting Centre of Excellence

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Work will commence on the development of the state-of-the-art, hockey specific all-weather pitch this March adding to Kilgraston’s already extensive sporting facilities. Planning for the project was submitted at the end of 2009 and it is hoped that the pitch will become the home of Perthshire hockey and a training centre for elite players from across Scotland. To complement the new pitch, Kilgraston will also undertake a complete refurbishment of the all-weather tennis facilities to provide eight championship courts.

Director of Sport, Pauline Stott, hopes the new facilities can be used to attract more people to sport and can be utilised in the expansion of grass-roots hockey and tennis across Perthshire and beyond.

The exciting £0.5 million development should be ready by the end of June and will become a Centre of Excellence for Hockey and Tennis.
