The Spirit of Youth Award

Kilgraston pupils have been recognised for their contribution to the local community and environment and have been presented with the accolade of The Spirit of Youth Award from Perth and Kinross Council. The pupils take part in many volunteering projects throughout the year. These range from the design and creation of a sensory garden at Moncreiffe Care Home as well as tidying local elderly residents’ gardens to removing Himalayan Balsam from the Deich Burn and planting new trees in Victory Park.

The girls also spend time during the weekends litter picking around the local community. Miss Angela Taylor, Assistant to the Head of Sixth Form and Volunteer Coordinator, took some pupils to the Perth Concert Hall to pick up the award on Friday 18th November 2011.

Miss Taylor wanted to thank all the girls and said; “Well done to everyone who has volunteered throughout the year and please keep up the hard work as you are all doing a fantastic job!”
