National Recipe Competition!
A group of Lower Fourth girls have recently won second prize in a national recipe competition. Scotherbs and Tesco sponsored the competition, open to all secondary schools. In Home Economics the class worked on developing a scone or pancake recipe, which made use of fresh herbs. Eight groups submitted recipes along with a written piece on why their recipe should win.
The winning team comprised Izzy Campbell, Megan McCaig, Erin Rennie and Rosie Gow. The prize to be shared between the school and the girls is £100 plus £50 worth of Tesco vouchers.
Their recipe for Scone Swirls will be available next Spring on a Tesco recipe card. The girls have also had the opportunity to visit the Consumer Advice Centre of the Crieff Road Tesco store. They enjoyed a fun morning, shopping for ingredients then preparing lunch for themselves and their Home Economics teacher Mrs Carole Clarke.
