Camperdown Wildlife Centre

On Thursday 27th September, Reception and Lower 1st went on a visit to the Camperdown Wildlife Centre in Dundee as part of our animal project. First we saw some reptiles and were able to touch and feel them. We found out that there is a lizard which is more like a snake with no legs. If its tail comes off it shatters like glass, hence the name ‘Glass Lizard’. We were able to wander round the park and look for the answers to questions about the animals.

We found out why some animals are endangered, where a lot of the animals come from and the habitat they need to survive. We also found out what they need to eat and what animal family they belong to.

When we had our lunch we were surrounded by peacocks who thought that Kilgraston packed lunches looked amazing!
