After reaching the conclusion that there was no reasonable prospect of funding the ongoing trading of the School, the trustees took the decision to close the School with immediate effect on 13 August 2024.

At the same time, the trustees took steps to submit an application to the Accountant in Bankruptcy for the appointment of a Trustee in Bankruptcy to the Kilgraston School Trust. On 4 September, the Accountant in Bankruptcy confirmed the appointment of Sarah O’Toole as Trustee in Bankruptcy.

All pupils, parents and staff members have been informed of the closure, and discussions are ongoing to facilitate alternative arrangements for those affected.

Further information on the trustees’ decision to close the school can be found on the PwC Kilgraston website here: https://www.pwc.co.uk/kilgraston

The School provided educational services to students, both UK and international. Following the announcement of the School closure, the trustees advised that an arrangement had been made with Glenalmond College / Craigclowan School, who offered places for all pupils who wish to join from the start of the academic year, thereby keeping the pupil cohort intact. Glenalmond is a local faith-based school with a similar ethos, who also offer Scottish Highers.

Sarah O’Toole is licensed in the United Kingdom to act as an Insolvency Practitioner by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
