| All candidates for Kilgraston and Butterstone Grange are required to complete a registration form before assessment or examination. Candidates sitting the February entry examination to Kilgraston Senior School and U3 Grange will automatically be considered for academic scholarship. | |||||||||||||||

Butterstone Grange Entry to The Grange is arranged after parents have met the Principal and the Head of Butterstone Grange. All candidates are invited to spend some time working with the appropriate year group so that an assessment can be made in order to place the child correctly. Boarders are encouraged to stay for a night. For children already in school a full report is required from the current school. There are 2 Scholarship Awards taken on the first Saturday in February. One is for girls entering U3rd which is awarded for 2 years i.e. U3rd/L4th. The second scholarship award is for girls entering the Senior Preparatory year (L4/S1) and will continue into Kilgraston's Senior School. Candidates passing this exam but not gaining the scholarship, may use it to reserve a place in the senior school from U4th. Senior School Entry & Scholarship Examinations Kilgraston holds its main Entry and Scholarship Examination on the first Saturday in February. Admission is possible to all year groups. Candidates unable to sit the February examinations will be given papers at the same level but will not be eligible for Scholarship, though they will have the opportunity to sit as internal candidates in the following year. A place will be offered on the strength of the examination and on receipt of a letter of reference from the candidate's current school.
