BUTTERSTONE GRANGE AT KILGRASTON
A PREPARATORY SCHOOL FOR GIRLS

At the start of this academic year Kilgraston Grange Junior School merged with Butterstone School, Meigle, to form Butterstone Grange at Kilgraston.

Butterstone Grange is situated within Kilgraston’s outstanding grounds and facilities at Bridge of Earn, Perth. As a result of the merger these facilities are being further upgraded.

Butterstone Grange is an independent preparatory school for boarding and day girls aged 5 – 13 and day boys up to the age of nine. The school offers an education which prepares girls for entry to Kilgaston and to schools throughout the UK via the Common Entrance examinations at 13+. Drawing on the expertise and the spirit of Butterstone School and Kilgraston Grange, the new school combines the academic excellence demanded by the most sought after secondary schools in Britain with the commitment to a child-centred education, which is at the heart of the Scottish system.

"We are creating one of Britain’s outstanding preparatory schools for girls. It will enable our pupils to enter the very best senior schools in the country, including Kilgraston. We will build on the tremendous achievements of the two existing schools to provide an ethos of academic, artistic and sporting excellence achieved within a friendly and inclusive Christian community."
Chairman of Governors at Kilgraston, Mr Tim Hall

"In these challenging times for independent boarding schools, Butterstone Grange will provide both academic excellence and long term financial viability. This merger offers continuity for pupils and parents. We are developing a strong new school for the future."
Chairman of Governors at Butterstone, Mr Richard Taylor
