Kilgraston featured in Tatler’s Schools Guide 2011

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

tatlerwebKilgraston has made it into Tatler’s Schools Guide for the first time. Listed in the prep section of the guide, Tatler says ‘Kilgraston stands out from the Scottish crowd’. With over 2600 independent schools now listed by the Independent Schools Council in the UK, getting into Tatler’s top 230 is no mean feat.

Here’s what Tatler had to say about us:

Kilgraston stands out from the Scottish crowd: apart from a tiny handful of prep-school boys, it’s all-girls and bustling, with 325 pupils. We’ve heard particularly good things about the prep school, and are delighted to include it in our guide for the first time. ‘It’s like walking into an Enid Blyton novel,’ says one observer – this is the only school in Scotland with an on-site equestrian centre, so girls can bring their horses to school with them and ride in the 54 acres of parkland. The new director of sport, Pauline Stott, was Great Britain’s hockey captain at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and Kilgraston girls won the Scottish prep schools rounders championships last year. Most girls slide seamlessly on to Kilgraston’s senior school, which last year had some of the best Advanced Higher results in Scotland.
