Haiti Appeal

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Haiti CakesEveryone around school pulled together in January to raise money for the Haiti Disaster Fund. The L4 raised £49.10 by organising a cake and candy sale with the help from their maths teacher, Mrs. Speed. They had been learning about measuring and had made some cakes to practise their maths skills. The girls calculated the cost per cake and decided to charge 25p for each one. The girls then managed their own cake stalls at break time.  Two girls said, “The cakes were so tasty that we each bought three!”

The U3 also held a cake and candy sale in the prep school and raised £205 for the appeal and a raffle was held in the senior school which brought in £266.32. A big thank you to everyone who donated something to the grand total of £520.42.
